I Have a set of old porch furniture stamped metal glider rocker and chair I would like to know the h
These are the kind your grandma had to sit outside and sip lemonade. I would like to know the history.
where can I get Stainless Steele/W nylon inserts brackets for wood swing porch gliders?
I am making a oak porch swing glider and I dont want the metal parts to rust from being outside in the weather.
KY residents only ---we are looking for an aluminum metal glider from years gone by..do you know whe
at? We have been looking for several years now with no luck...it can be in need of repairs and/or need painting. Maybe you have seen one sitting in a barn or someone's yard. It doesn't need to look like a beauty...just needs to be fixable. If you know where one is at and the owners are willing to part with it we would love to have it for our front deck. It can be free or priced reasonable according to its condition. We are not looking to resell it or anything of that nature. We just want one to go on our front deck as I mentioned above and are not having any luck finding one. I have even left our phone numbers and email address on peoples doors when I see one sitting out in a yard. Also if you are in southern Ohio or possibly southern Indiana that might work also. We are about 50 miles south of Cincinnati Pictures emailed to me at ananimalloverinkentucky@yahoo.com would be helpful in determining a price of the glider

How do you remove rust from an old metal porch swing?
I have a circa 1950's metal porch glider. It used to be my grandparents' and I inherited it. Over the years the paint has faded and it has collected some rust. I'd like to remove the rust and then paint it with rust-proof enamel spray paint. Does anyone have any solutions for the rust removal and pointers for when I go to paint it?
You can use a rust remover like "Navel Jelly" you brush it on let it work and then clean it off. Combine that with a soft steel wire ... See More

How and/or where do I replace the canopy cover for my metal outdoor glider bench?
It is full of moss and has been damaged by water. I want something really strong and water resistant, or Repellant if possible!
the cost to replace the canopy is more than the cost to just replace the entire swing. See More
It will be costly but you could price the job at a local upholstery shop. They make it to fit out of any material you want. Plus they know ... See More
Do manufacturer's still make the metal gliders?
I know you can buy canvas swings, and wooden swings, but this was a glider. Most of you will remember. It sat on a metal base, and glided back and forth rather than swing. I wondered if they are still sold? Every year, dad would get help putting it up on 'wooden horses,' to repaint it. The glider was really heavy, and he used Rustoleum paint since it sat out in the weather. There were also the metal chairs that matched the glider if you chose to buy. I would be curious to know if they are still made, and where they can be purchased. If so, I bet they aren't made as sturdy as years past.
My grandmother had one on her front porch after the swing broke, but I haven't seen them in years. It was very heavy. See More
Go to Vintage Gliders.com, a friend of mine bought a beautiful restored glider last year. See More
